Chocolate-nut porridge cake

Imagine starting your day with a piece of cake that's not only outrageously delicious but also nutritious. Our Chocolate Nut Porridge Cake makes just that possible! This creation combines classic porridge with the irresistible charm of a chocolate cake. A perfect symbiosis of oat mixture, chocolate depth, and the crunch of nuts that transforms any breakfast table into a celebration.

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 100g chopped nuts (e.g. walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts)
  • 40g cocoa powder
  • 60g maple syrup
  • 200g oat flakes
  • 1 banana
  • 25g reoat organic oat drink Barista
  • 200ml warm water
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • Vegetable oil for the baking pan

Preparation:

  1. Mix the reoat organic oat drink Barista with the warm water.
  2. Start by soaking the oats and reoat oat drink in water overnight in a bowl to create the base of your oat mix.
  3. The next day, preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease a baking pan.
  4. Stir the oat mixture well.
  5. Mix the soaked oat flakes with the cocoa powder, chopped nuts (80g), maple syrup, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
  6. Mash the banana into a pulp and mix it into the batter mixture.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan, smooth it out and sprinkle the dough with nuts.
  8. Bake the porridge cake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and firm.
  9. After baking, let the cake cool in the pan before serving.

Recommendation of the house:

For an extra kick, add chocolate chips or a shot of espresso to the mixture before baking. This will deepen the flavor and bring out the chocolate notes even more.

Serve this delicious chocolate nut porridge cake with a cup of coffee or tea. A dollop of yogurt or a portion of fresh fruit can serve as the perfect accompaniment to this rich yet healthy cake.
